Romania offers countless opportunities for anyone looking to study medicine abroad! Oradea University boasts elite education for students pursuing a career in Medicine. This department opened in 1991 and has successfully developed excellent doctors from countries world-wide. They are highly recognized and the graduates complete identical licensing exams as the Romanian language Department. Oradea is non-profit and the state controls and owns it.

That said, there's no doubt the Romanian education system is still under scrutiny and this will take time to pass. Attitudes from young people in recent years have been 'we don't need any education' and hence those students that do want to learn have opted to study globally. The teachers are still underpaid and hence unmotivated and the students are messed up with the ever-changing education bill. Most hold full-time jobs while trying to study.
The positive is that changes are being made and progress is happening, albeit slowly. It doesn't help either that the Romanians are huge on family and still have yet to find the 'will' to let their children get educated first and employed, before starting a family.
To help with the seemingly poorer 'base skills' of Romanians, officials have devised a 'pre-university' framework. This will help get the students up to par for the challenges ahead, help set them up for success!
One of the most prestigious Universities in Bucharest is the University of Bucharest's Law School. It sees improvements in the desire and caliber of the students and although test difficulty was lowered to allow more students in, the numbers of applicants is improving steadily and the University is definitely progressing forward.
In turn, students seem to be more 'open' but still less prepared and less diligent than necessary to achieve excellence.
Bottom line is that progress takes time and the 'want, need and desire' is improving, which is the platform for success. With time, incentives will be in place to encourage more teachers and that along with the overall shift in thinking, from 'just family' to 'education, job and then family,' will help the Romanian educational system surpass all expectations. It just needs some time, patience, consistency and a lot of hard work by all.
